College hosts the Annual Ulster Schools Chess Championship, 2015

On Friday 27th February, the newly renovated College Library was transformed into an arena of intense competition in the form of the annual Ulster Schools Chess Championship.

Teams from Bangor Grammar and Ballymena Academy made the trip to the Antrim Road, fielding sides at both U-19 and U-16 levels. Over the course of the day dozens of battles were played out across the sixty-four squares, some lasting only a few minutes, while other more intense encounters stretched out for over an hour. At the end of a competitive but good natured tournament, two strong Bangor sides emerged victorious in both age groups.

Our congratulations to them and all the players who took part.
