On Tuesday, 10th January, members of the College Debating Society travelled to the Orchard County for a second round tie against the Royal School, Armagh.
St Malachy’s ‘B’ –Johnny McNamee and Ciaran O’Neill – faced an experienced Year 14 side. However, the GCSE students remained undaunted throughout and offered a spirited, poised and well considered rebuttal.
The adjudicator, Mr David Hoey (a corporate marketing consultant), praised both teams for an interesting debate before awarding the win to the Royal School, Armagh. We would like to take this opportunity to wish the Royal School the very best of luck.
St Malachy’s ‘A’ take on St Louis Grammar in their second round draw. This debate is scheduled for Tuesday, 24th January.
