Year 11 History students have participated in a series of Divided Society Project workshops facilitated by the Linen Hall Library. The session showcased artefacts from the Linen Hall Libraries NI Political collection which ranges from the Troubles period of the 1960s to the current day. The boys were able to explore key events such as Civil Rights, internment, the 1994 ceasefires and the Good Friday Agreement through a range of historical evidence including a piece of ‘a dragon’s tooth’, a handbag made in Long Kesh and a Bill Clinton chess piece. Oral history interviews were also used to convey a real sense of life during the Troubles.
