Twenty-four boys from years 8-11 performed for parents, patients and staff at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children on Tuesday 29 May. Most of the soloists and ensembles had their first outing at our fantastic Junior Concert a couple of weeks ago, but for some this was their first public performance! Congratulations to all the boys involved. Dr Claire Lundy said "Feedback from children, parents and staff was fantastic. Everyone felt that the music was beautiful and provided a moment of joy in the day. It was particularly moving to hear from some of the children how much they enjoyed it. Hopefully the boys enjoyed themselves and recognise the contribution they have made. They are a credit to the school."
St. Malachy’s College are the very first school to perform as part of the new Musical Moments programme that the hospital is introducing to alleviate anxiety, lift spirits and provide a moment to pause and listen, to feel uplifted and to connect with others through a shared, enjoyable experience.
